Sandy has served 3 terms on Canton City Council, and has decided to step down after dedicating a busy 12 years to the City.</div></div><div xat24cr="" x1lziwak="" x1vvkbs="" xtlvy1s="" x126k92a"=""><div dir="auto">&nbsp;</div><div dir="auto">While on City Council, Sandy led initiatives on the alcohol ordinance, charter revisions, noise ordinance, unified development code update, and ethics ordinance. She attended annual training from the Georgia Municipal Association and took interest in sustainability efforts, and led the charge to update the City's plant palette.</div><div dir="auto">&nbsp;</div><div dir="auto">Sandy has long supported downtown redevelopment efforts, improvements in traffic design in the SR 140 corridor, and working with youth. She, along with former Councilor JoEllen Wilson, led an initiative pre-Covid to put a new book in the hands of every elementary school student in Canton to foster literacy. She has annually supported the Shop with a Cop program with the Canton Police Department.</div><div dir="auto">&nbsp;</div><div dir="auto">The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.</div></div>
